Ben & Holly: Review & Win 1 of 2 Prize Packs

October 20, 2016

Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom is on replay in our house daily. Miss 2 is obsessed with the show, and usually what madam wants madam gets. Gaston Ladybird is her favourite followed closely by Nanny Plum and Ben Elf. Despite it being her favourite show we only have the tapings on the TV to watch on repeat, so when I was offered the chance to review the latest Ben & Holly toy range I knew they would be a winner. We took them away on our recent trip overseas and they not only helped keep the kids occupied, they are played with daily now that we are home.

The new range of toys are educational – designed to enhance your children’s motor skills, shape recognition and hand-eye coordination with the appeal of their favourite characters. They focus on the following skills: Colour recognition, Counting & numbers, Hand eye coordination, Verbalisation, Problem Solving and Fine motor skills.

Ben & Holly Opposite Card Game. RRP $14, Ages 3 and over: Both Miss 2 and Master 4 played with this one. Miss 2 was too young to get the “opposite” concept but enjoyed finding the colours and trying to put them together. Master 4 with assistance did work out what the cards said by looking at the pictures. These are great quality, hard cards – 24 cards in the pack making 12 pairs.

Ben & Holly Snap Cards. RRP $5 Ages 3 and over: The classic game of snap is a favourite in our house and all four kids played with these on the plane. They are a softer card so save them for kids above 3 (Miss 2 was bending them) They feature all your favourite Ben & Holly characters and the kids would say the name of each before yelling out snap.

Ben & Holly Memory Card Game: RRP $14 Ages 3 and over: Great quality hard cards featuring Ben & Holly characters. Miss 2 was able to understand this game and Master 4 loved it as well. Turn the cards to find a pair until they are all matched – then start again!

Ben & Holly Pin Puzzle Fairies: RRP $17 Ages 18 months and over: This was one of Miss 2’s favourites. She has just started liking puzzles and could easily manage doing and redoing this puzzle on her own. It kept her attention for around half an hour at a time, working on her concentration and fine motor skills.

Ben & Holly Stacking Blocks: RRP $25 Ages 3 and over: Miss 2 was too young to get the concept of this game – so Master 4 claimed it quickly and loved it. Stack the blocks up and roll the dice – you have to pull out a block one at a time until it topples over. Master 4 played this on his own and with his sisters. It’s still played with frequently weeks on!

Ben & Holly Pairs Cards Game: RRP $5 Ages 3 and over: play this one as find the pairs, snap or memory game. Features Ben & Holly favourites, Miss 2 and Master 4 played this together and solo. These card games can be carried in your bag easily – Miss 2 likes looking through them in her car seat.

Ben & Holly Colour Sort Game: RRP $19.95 Ages 3 and over: This was both Miss 2’s and my favourite one from the range. Each player takes a card and takes turns turning over two tokens. If the coloured objects match your board you place the token on there. If not, turn them back over. Children learn colours and build memory skills. It contains 30 blocks made from wood. Miss 2 loved playing with the blocks on their own and with the boards, and this one held her attention the longest out of all of the toys. A huge winner.

The Ben & Holly Range is available at ABC stores, Toyworld, Myer and all good independent retailers.

The royal THISTLE family and the elves of Little Kingdom are number one favourites in this household. The educational BEN & HOLLY merchandise would be wonderful for family sharing times.
