Rebecca Ryan is a yoga and meditation teacher and mum of two who specialises in pre and post natal yoga. She has written a book which has just been released “Mindfulness For Mothers” Being a busy mother of 5 I am often frantically running around and constantly on the go with high stress levels. I am not one for the gym or structured classes of any type so when I was given the chance to read this book I was all eyes.
Mindfulness for Mothers was written to help mothers restore a sense of balance and calm in their lives. The book is divided into four parts – step by step instructions guide readers through meditative exercises. From quick 10 second tension breakers to 30 minute invigorating body awareness routines that you can do with children or without, morning, noon or night and at home or on the move.
Instructional illustrations as well as a description, plus list of benefits and tips for each exercise made this not only a very informative and interesting read – it meant I could easily try the exercises out. They are easy to follow and remember and I am starting to learn how to relax. An ideal read for old, new and expectant mothers.
