Octonauts Live! Operation Reef Shield – Our review

June 25, 2015

I have said before how obsessed my three year old is with the Octonauts. It’s his favourite show, he has watched every episode a few thousand times, owns just about every Octonauts toy on the market times two and talks about them all day and night. His bedroom is a shrine of toys to the Octonauts.

We were given tickets to watch Octonauts Live! Operation Reef Shield at Chatswood Concourse this week. Master three was hyped to see his heroes live in action, and so was I. Our seating was in the stalls, close to the stage, giving us a great view.

Octonauts Live! Operation Reef Shield sees Captain Barnacles and his crew join with reef creatures to set out to save the Great Barrier Reef, at risk of being eaten by the Crown of Thorns Starfish. The show starts with a large screen – which sets the scene for the Octonauts to burst onto the stage – I thought Master 2 was going to explode with excitement.

The show combines a great storyline with fantastic scenery, big screens and great big bubble machines which blow endless bubbles out – a definite highlight for the kids. There are puppets, audience interaction calling for the kids to yell out and performing actions any Octonauts fan will recognise, along with singing, dancing and educational facts.

The show was a huge hit for Master three, and will be for any Octonauts lover.
