Now that we are back from our extended overseas trip and the kids are back to their daily school routine it is a priority of mine to get the house de-cluttered and throughly cleaned. Regular readers of my blog would know if there is one thing in the world I hate more than anything else it is cleaning the house. Recently I have had to cancel our weekly cleaner so the job like a lot of households is up to me – and what a mammoth job it is with so many kids and the mess they create!
Despite my lack of affection for cleaning the home I am obsessed with cleaning products. I spend the most time in the cleaning aisle when shopping, looking for the latest and greatest products that will help make the job easier. So when Sabco offered to send me a delivery full of their products to help me with my mission it was like Christmas in February!
We have floorboards throughout our home which get a workout daily not only from the loads of feet but our dog too. Mopping the floors is the job I detest the most: it is an ordeal before you even start. Get the bucket, get the mop out and hope that little fingers or a dog face doesn’t go fishing in the bucket. The Sabco SuperSwish Spray Mop requires no bucket, fill the removable bottle located on the mop with water, your usual cleaner or like me disinfectant or eucalyptus oil. It has an ergonomic trigger that allow you to self-regulate the amount of cleaner you spray directly onto the floor and the Microfibre pad gives a great clean, even with water alone. It is suitable for a big range of floor coverings including timber, vinyl, linoleum, polished, concrete and tiles and the Microfibre pad is machine washable: throw it in the machine once you are done! This is an easy mop to use, gives a great clean and is easily stored with the cleaner topped up ready for your next use. The ease of this means I am mopping more frequently than with my old floor mop and bucket duo. See it in action below:
Window cleaning hasn’t happened for a long time here, and it was long overdue. We have floor to ceiling windows in the front of our home and they were filthy. Dog paws, kids finger prints, sticky hands. The Sabco 3-in-1 Spray Squeegee Window Cleaner is so easy to use, fill the detachable bottle with water or cleaner, spray, wash with the Microfibre pad and squeegee the excess off for sparkling clean windows The professional quality rubber blade gives a streak free finish, and the easy 3-in-1 action meant the kids could even do this chore – Floyd my 4 year old was fascinated with this and spent an hour cleaning the windows (and did a great job) – a win for mum!
When was the last time you cleaned your roof or ceiling fans – or even looked at them? For me it was long overdue, and when I did finally look at them they were filthy. We don’t have fans in our home but the roof was overrun with cobwebs, bugs and grime. The Sabco Premium Cobweb & Ceiling Fan Broom has a handle that extends to 1.3 metres, making it easy to reach those places that haven’t seen any action for a long time. It took me half an hour to walk through the house sweeping every roof surface as well as the top of the walls, and the dirt it collected was astounding. The broom was do easy to clean – just grab the brush and wipe it into the bin.
Dusting was not in my cleaning routine. I recall my mother owning a feather duster she used to whack me with when I was a young one, but that is about as far as dusters and I went until trying out the Sabco Flexible Microfingers Duster. Apart from the obvious dusting shelves etc, this was used to dust our venetian blinds with ease, the top of our framed pictures as well as the lounge, bookshelves and bench tops. The flexible head means you can reach those tricky spots, and the dusting pad is machine washable!
The next big job I had on my list forever and a day was cleaning our walls. If you have small children I challenge you to get on your hands and knees and crawl around and just look at the mess your walls are in – we had marks, little artworks with crayons and pencils, in short they were DIRTY. I filled the Sabco Trigger Action Spray Bottle with water and 10mls each of vinegar and eucalyptus oil and grabbed a Sabco Kitchen Shine Microsfibre Sponge Cloth and got to work. The spray bottle holds 750mls of your favourite cleaner to be used time and time again, it would be ideal to have a few of those around the house for cleaning different rooms. The sponge cloths were one of my favourite products. Prior to now I had used cheap disposable cloths that were thrown out after either ripping or becoming too dirty after a use or two. These cloths combine Microfibre with sponge and are extremely durable, well sized at 17×18.5cm and multi purpose: cleaning, washing dishes, wiping benches and stove tops to name a few. They come in a multi-coloured four pack which means you can use each for different purposes and the biggest bonus is they are machine washable.
